Permatex High Performance Thread Sealant

Formulated specifically for tapered pipe fittings, Permatex High Performance Thread Sealant replaces Teflon^® tape and pipe dopes. It works well on head bolts (that pass through water jackets), sending units, sensors, fuel fittings, oil and coolant lines, along with rear axle fill plugs.  It cures rapidly to withstand up to 10,000 PSI. Prevents galling and protects mated threaded areas from rust and corrosion.

Application

Automobile
Suggested Applications: Stainless steel fittings, head bolts into through holes, oil PSI sending units/sensors, oil and coolant lines, intake manifold switches, rear axle fill plug, and fuel fittings.

Motorcycle
Suggested Applications: Timing hole plug, oil hose fitting

Heavy Duty
Suggested Applications: Drain plugs, all tapered fittings

Note: Permatex^® Thread Sealant seals threaded metal fittings on hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and cooling systems. It is not recommended for plastics or rubber.

• For best results, clean parts with Permatex^® Surface Prep^™ activator.
• Knead tube of Thread Sealant before use.
• Apply sealant to leading threads of the male fitting, leaving the first thread free of sealant. It is not necessary to apply to all threads.
• Assemble parts and tighten to recommended torque. Refer to Technical Data Sheet for complete information.
