Ryan Blaney Wins the 2023 NASCAR Championship!

Ryan Blaney won the NASCAR Championship for the 2023 season. Congratulations to Ryan and his team!

Racing runs in Ryan's blood, as his father, Dave Blaney, and grandfather, Lou Blaney, were both successful racers in their own right. From a young age, Ryan showed a natural talent for racing, and it wasn't long before he began making a name for himself on the track.

Ryan is a 3rd generation driver whose family is from the Western Pennsylvania / Eastern Ohio area, not far from 90racing. I took photos of Ryan's Dad, Dave, back in 1991 during a World of Outlaws sprint car tour at Lernerville Speedway.  Ryan Blaney was born on December 31, 1993, so he wasn't even born when these photos were taken!

Meet Ryan Blaney's Dad, Dave Blaney

Ryan Blaney comes from a close-knit family that has always been involved in racing. His father, Dave Blaney, had a successful career in NASCAR, competing in the Cup Series for many years. Prior to Dave's career in NASCAR, he was a formidable competitor in Sprint Cars. Dave's father, Lou Blaney, was a renowned sprint car and modified driver, further adding to the family's racing legacy.

Dave Blaney is from Hartford, Ohio, not far from our headquarters at 90racing! From a young age, he had a passion for racing and quickly made a name for himself in the dirt track racing circuit. Blaney's talent and determination led him to compete in various racing series, including the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and NASCAR. Dave's brother Dale also races sprint cars, and both are still still active on the dirt track circuit.
